Re-establish the NFDA conservation group?

Conservation

For some years the New Forest D.A. had a lively Conservation Group under the leadership of Jim Evans, working mainly for the Kingston Lacy Estate until 2004. I took over from Jim for one year but the Group disbanded in 2005 as no-one was found to take over.

A suggestion has been put forward to possibly re-start the Conservation Group, although no contact has yet been made with any organisation. The previous group would meet locally, for about 4/6 Sundays during the Winter months to do various jobs as required by whoever they were working for!! This could involve clearing shrubbery, hedge layering etc and sometimes lighting a bonfire!! We used to meet at 10 – 10.30.a.m. and would take a packed lunch, finishing in the afternoon around 3.30 – 4.a.m. and a record of everyone who attended was kept for Insurance purposes. The Group was open to all ages and a good time was had by all.

WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF A CONSERVATION GROUP???

If you are, or have any questions, with no obligation, either ring me on (01202 241605), e-mail me on ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or come and have a word with me when you see me on site.

Many thanks - Margaret (Miller)
