Hi,

Let us introduce ourselves.

We are Mallory and Sharon Hares and we have recently taken over the position as Junior Leaders for the New Forest DA.

A Little bit about us

My name is Mallory and I have been camping since I joined the Youth when I was 12 years old. 

I now have a family of my own and having camped on and off in a tent decided that it was high time that we bought a caravan of our own.  We took the plunge at the beginning of the season in 2007 when we managed to camp most weekends.  I have been married to Sharon for nearly 20 years and we have four children, Rebecca who is 18, Jazmine who is 16 and we also have twin boys, Lewis and Nathan who are now 10 and they were the main reason why we took on the roles of Junior Leaders.

As well as teaching the juniors (who are aged between 8 and 11) how to put up their tents, we also hope to teach them basic survival including first aid and how to enjoy and respect their countryside.  Most of all we plan to have a lot of fun.

We organise volleyball, rounders, football, quizzes, craft sessions etc.  We have also just purchased a huge play parachute which has been an enormous hit with the children as well as the adults!

We also like to encourage our pre-juniors to join us (although they must have a responsible adult with them at all times).
